THE PERSON BEHIND THE PRACTICE

About

I am Hammersmith.

I treat life as material I have to shape with my own hands. I read, write, code, and build tools, then look at whether any of it improves how I live. Hammersmith is the person doing that work: independent in thought, hands-on in practice.

I care whether something actually helps, and when an approach stops being useful. Ideas, practice records, and verified results are kept distinct here.

Why Hammersmith

I am drawn to the independence of a smith working beneath the willows, and to work that cannot be replaced by thinking about it. The world makes noise; I stay with the task in my hands. Lifesmithing is the method: gather material, put it to work, reflect, and keep what proves useful.

About the material

The material comes from my essays, reflections, and real project records. AI assists with editing, translation, and site construction. Claims about experience and results remain tied to evidence, including the date of historical verification where relevant.
